Traveling from any international airport to USA

This is step-by-step travel information for the people who have not really traveled a lot and are traveling to US for the first time.

Before You being your journey:

BAGGAGE:
Cabin Baggage: The baggage you carry with yourself, inside the craft.
Check in Baggage:The baggage that goes in the cargo section.
Be sure-
1. The baggage confirms in dimensions/ Weight(Check in advance with your airline).
2. Carry in, has the important documents you need to show at the time of Immigration check and =medicines (if any required), extra pair of clothing, and warm clothes, if required.
3.Carry in, should not have any sprays/ perfume/ cosmetics/ liquid/ gels/ alcohols sharp articles.
4. Purses/ pouches are allowed in addition to Carry in, baggage.

**It is advisable to fasten some ribbon or thread in striking color on each of your baggage, or have your name written over for easy and quick identification.


At the Originating Airport:

On reaching the Airport, grab a trolley for your Baggage. On the entrance the guard would check the ticket to grant you the entry. Once Inside, look out for your Airline check in counter.

1. X-RAY your Check in baggage.
You will find the X-ray Machine close to your Airline counter. Make sure that the person in charge puts a "Safety Check" sticker on each and every of your baggage.

**Keep you passport/ ticket handy**
2. Check in Counter.
Then move to your airline check in Counter.Hand over your baggage for check in. Take the boarding pass, ask for your seat preference and for transit details (if you have any flight change in between). Do remember to take a receipt of your checked-in luggage and see that destination stamped on it is correct.

Also remember to take a Embarkation form , fill it carefully, remember it is not to be submitted right now(Read point 4), just fill it, for any confusion, you can seek help of the airline staff. (If you are two people traveling together, you would need two Embarkation Forms).

Checkpoints:
1. You have the Boarding pass/your passport/Embarkation Form(duly filled)/ Checked in baggage receipt.
2. You have checked in your Baggage, and are now carrying only your carry in baggage.

**Proceed to the Immigration Counter**

3.Immigration check.

You will have to stand in the line, and wait for your turn.
The immigration officer will ask for your passport, ticket, boarding pass and the Embarkation form. He may questions you about your journey, visa, purpose of travel etc. Answer clearly. He will take the Embarkation form, and will return every thing else after stamping your passport.
(If two or more of you are traveling together, you can together go to the Immigration Officer).


**Proceed to the custom counter**

4.Custom Counter
You will have to stand in the line, and wait for your turn.
The custom officer will stamp your boarding pass.In case you have lots of jewellery or other expensive items with you, you can declare it at the customs counter, and get it endorsed on your passport. So on returning, you don't have to face customs hassles.

** Proceed to the security check.

5. Security Check- At this stage, you have to X-ray your cabin luggage, purse, or anything that you are carrying in your hand. Just place it all in the conveyor belt. Then you have to pass through a metal detector, where a personal security check will be done. You will have to stand in the line, and wait for your turn.The officer in charge will put a "security checked" stamp on your boarding pass. Collect back all your stuff.

Checkpoints:
1. You have given the Embarkation Form/s to the Immigration officer.
2. Immigration Officer has stamped your Passport/s.
3. Your Boarding Pass has been stamped by the Custom Officer, and the Security Officer has put a "Security Check" on your Boarding Pass.
4. You have other tags of your airline attached on your carry in baggage, purse, pouch or on any other item you are carrying in hand.

**All set to Board the Plane**

6. Boarding
The Departure gate Number is printed on the Boarding Pass,locate the gate and wait till the Boarding is announced.
After the Boarding is announced, you would move out of the gate and will be taken to the flight in the bus.
Once inside the craft, locate your seat number, don't hesitate to ask cabin crew, if you need any help.
